modified Theory dress, Marc by Marc Jacobs sunnies, Isabel Marant wedges
Could not be happier with the weather. It is everything I could have hoped for in a brief trip back to California... Spent the day wandering Hollywood with Minna, lunching at Umami Burger, and generally frolicking in the sun. Umami Burger has ruined ketchup for me - I was ready to steal the bottle off the table. It really was that good. Mind-blowing even. If you get a chance, GO. I can't go back to Heinz. And then, there were endless stalls of food for some street fair. Carmela Ice Cream had a truck and my mind was blown. Again.
Owning (and knowing how to operate) a sewing machine is one of the best ways to keep your wardrobe budget in line. Found this Theory dress on ebay for $20 and found its length unacceptable, so I abbreviated it. Shazam! With the simplest sort of alteration I had a new summer frock. The first cut into the fabric felt like blasphemy, but it's much better this way. Simplicity in summer dresses is something I'd like to see more of.
Also: remember how Minna and I are both big on platforms? Though I'll be more of a fan when these stop giving me blisters.
